Dorothy was born on September 28, 1971, to Sherry Louise Fleming and Dalton Donald Tutor in Tyler, Texas, and passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family in Homer, Louisiana.
Dee-Dee was a free spirit who was outspoken and knew how to have a good time. She loved to listen to music of all kinds and go out dancing on the weekends. It was during one of those times that she found a man who matched her moves and passions in life. She married Chris on July 4, 2008, and together they turned the average ordinary day into an everyday adventure. She loved the outdoors and getting dirty. Traveling, camping, and riding four-wheelers were her ideas of a great time. She had so much fun going mudding and being at Muddy Bottoms with her family and friends. She wanted to be on the lake as much as she could. She enjoyed fishing and just looking at the water. She took so many beautiful pictures of sunsets on the lake. She also had a fondness for food and would take pictures and post them of almost every meal she ate. She had a passion for reading and had a book of some kind with her nearly always. She was a loving, caring, and wonderful mother to her children and a cool and awesome G’ma who knew how to have fun with her family. She had a great love for the holidays and always looked forward to going over to her grandparents’ or sister Denise’s house to spend the day hanging out and celebrating with her entire family. She had a strong and unbreakable bond with her two sisters, they loved being together and even spent hours every night talking to one another on the phone. Family meant everything to her, and it came from the unwavering and unconditional love and support she always received from her parents. Like them, she led by example and taught her own children to live their lives to the fullest without fear or regret. She may have left here earlier than her family was ready for, but she left them knowing that her life was filled with joy, happiness, and a ton of amazing experiences.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her grandfather; Geroge W. Fleming; grandmother, Dorothy Louise Fleming; mother, Sherry Louise Fleming; sister, DeLane Ayers; and nephew, Branson James Butler. Left to cherish her memory is her father, Don Tutor; sister, Denise Burch; husband, Chris Taylor; daughters, Krystal Holmes and husband, Chris, Destiny Bledsoe and Cassidy Taylor; son, Devin Butler; grandchildren, Colton, Landon, Aaron, Andrew, Carter, Xander, Marley, and Ivy along with many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and lifelong friends.
Honoring Dee-Dee as pallbearers will be Alex Gutierrez, Chris Holmes, Cody Frost, Colton Meader, James, Warren and Nick Porterfield.
