Dorothy Martha Hawkins Evans

A funeral service for Dorothy Martha Hawkins Evans, 84, will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City. Officiating the service will be Steve.

Dorothy was born on October 21, 1940, to Columbus Washington Hawkins and Selma Omaha Walker in Oak Grove, Louisiana, and passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2024, in Benton, Louisiana.

Dorothy loved working in her yard, and she took great pride in keeping it beautiful. She enjoyed feeding and watching the birds as well as taking great care of her flowers and plants, which she loved very much.

Dorothy was a hard worker, whatever the task was she put her all into it. She had a gift for crocheting and embordering. Everything she made she put love into and it was personalized. When you received a gift, you knew it was personally made for you.

Dorothy had a lot of love and respect for her son-in-law, Mike Bostick. She would always speak about how he helped her when she needed it, and she was very appreciative. She once said that she was happy that her daughter had a good husband.

Dorothy will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, LaDonna Cagle, Jeannie Bostick, and husband, Mike and Lynne Cagle; son, Eddie Cagle; grandchildren, Christopher Coburn, Doyle Coburn, Charles Bostick, Heather McNeil, and Kristina Bostick; great-grandchildren, Lily Rose Parker, Peyton Parker, and Sierra Coburn; brother, Don Hawkins; sister, Betty Rice; and many nieces and nephews. 

Honoring Dorothy as pallbearers will be Matthew Saliga, Dakota Hawkins, Len Fulmer, Jacob Johnson, Gabriel Johnson, Charles Bostick, and Little Don, Jr.
