Dorothy Earline "Maw Maw" Havard

Dorothy Earline “Maw Maw” Havard passed away on January 10, 2025. She was born on October 21, 1926 in Texarkana, Arkansas to the late Palmer Rayburn and Mary Little Nix Rayburn. 

A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. with services to follow at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 19, 2025 located at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive in Shreveport. Burial will follow at Old Castor Cemetery in Castor, Louisiana. Honoring Dorothy as pallbearers will be Chris DeGueurce, Patrick Alford, and Jacob Havard. 

Dorothy, AKA “Maw Maw” as she was affectionately known, was a longtime resident of Shreveport. She was a lab and x-ray technician for Strain Baby Clinic throughout the 1970s and 1980s. Her hobbies included writing poetry, cooking, and spending time with her family. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lonnie Havard; daughter, Karol Havard Hammack; son, Kenneth Havard and wife Wynona; and son-in-law, Stephen Phares. 

Dorothy is survived by her son, Michael Havard and wife Diane; daughter, Cindy Phares; grandsons, Chris DeGueurce and fiancée Madison Poche, and Patrick Alford; grand daughter, Holly Chkhichekh and husband Hafid; and great-grandchildren, Jacob, Aya, and Skyler.
