Dorothy Marie Holland Bevill

A graveside service for Dorothy Marie Holland Bevill, 97, will be held at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Memorial Gardens of Mooringsport, 614 Pickering St, Mooringsport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Pastor Harrell Shelton.

Dorothy was born on June 3, 1926 in Haynesville, Louisiana to Sammy and Pearl Holland and passed away Friday, October 13, 2023 peacefully surrounded with her family by her side at her daughters home in North Shreveport, Louisiana.

She was a lifelong active member of Mooringsport Baptist Church for over 50 years. She loved knitting dish rags and spending time with her friends and family.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 53 years, Bruce M. Bevill; two brothers, Gloyd David “G.D.” Holland and Daryl Holland and son-in-law, Albert Lee Orendorff. She is survived by one daughter, Janet Lea Bevill Orendorff; one granddaughter, Meagan Lea Orendorff and fiancé, Adam and one great-grandson, Forrest Edwards, who she loved so fiercely along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express special gratitude to St. Joseph’s, specifically Kelsey, Kristen and Vanessa for everything they did these past few months.
