Funeral services honoring the life of Dorothy Jane Holmes, of Keatchie, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Shiloh Baptist Church in Keatchie, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Reverend Charles Hall. A visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Shiloh Baptist Church. Interment will be held at Shiloh Baptist Cemetery in Keatchie, Louisiana. Dorothy was born on December 3, 1941 in Evelyn, Louisiana to Newman Attaway and Bessie Roberts Attaway. She entered into eternal rest on June 26, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Newman and Bessie Attaway; sisters, Louise Deen, Huey White; brothers, Newman Attaway, Lewis Attaway. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jimmy Lewis Holmes Sr. of Keatchie, Louisiana; sons, Jimmy Holmes Jr. and wife Kimberly of Keatchie, Louisiana, Wendell Holmes and wife Pamala of Keatchie, Louisiana; sisters, Bobby Myers and husband Sidney of Logansport, Louisiana, Jo May and husband Arlis of Kilgore, Texas, Brenda James of Temple, Texas, Carol Sue Prince and husband Myron of Stonewall, Louisiana; brother, Harold Attaway and wife Patsy of Springfield, Missouri; grandchildren, Emily Leahy and husband Josh, Brian Holmes and wife Twila, Shelby Palmer, Jena Aaron and husband Tony, Miles Holmes; along with 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Honoring Dorothy as pallbearers will be Josh Leahy, Tony Aaron, Miles Holmes, Tommy Russell, Dylan Busher, Brian Holmes.
