Dorothy Holt

SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services for Dorothy P. Holt will be Monday July 11, 2016 at 12 noon at Rose- Neath Southside Funeral Home. Officiating services will be Rev. Elaine Burleigh, Rev. Mimi McDowell both pastors of Noel United Methodist Church with assistance from Mr. Chris Middleton. Visitation will be held Sunday July 10, 2016 from 5:00- 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Dorothy was born to John J. and Theressa Griffith Parnell in Mansfield, LA on October 1, 1922. She passed away July 6, 2016, in Shreveport, at the age of 93. Preceding Dorothy in death are her parents, husband Robert S. Holt and sister, Lula Wingfield. She is survived by her son, John Parnell Holt and wife Kim; daughter, Donna Holt Hampton; niece, Luanne Williams; nephew, Jim Wingfield; grandson, Robert Brown; 2 great grandchildren, Isabella Sweeney Brown and Jaxon Laine Brown. Honoring Dorothy as pallbearers will be Knox Andress, Robert Brown, Bruce Chambers, Cliff Chenault, Jim Wingfield and Newman Yarbrough. Honorary pallbearers will be Temple Pyle and Chris Middleton. The family would like to send a special thanks to Beulah Gilliam for her dedication, loyalty, compassion, and love showed to our mother for the past 7 years.
