SHREVEPORT, LA- Graveside services for Dorothy Watson Poss, 76, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2014 at Grand Cane Cemetery in Grand Cane, LA. Brother Jim Moss will officiate. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Mrs. Poss was born on December 16, 1937 in Bossier City, LA and passed away on July 7, 2014 at home surrounded by loved ones. She was attended schools in Bossier, Caddo and DeSoto parishes then attended Kilgore College and Texas A&M. She was the first lady deputy sheriff of San Augustine, TX and later employed with the Texas Department of Corrections where after years she retired as a Lieutenant in security. She was a very devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She brightened everyone's life and will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her father, James L. Watson and mother, Mamie Renois Watson; son, Lorey Williams Poss; grandson, Justin M. Wiggins; nephew, Jimmy W. Watson; nieces, Martha Watson; brother, Wayne R. Watson; and life-long friend, Bonnie Meek. She is survived by daughters, Lisa Poss and Alice Poss; grandchildren, Cory and Kayla Alsup and Katie Poss; great-grandchildren, Remington and Bella Alsup, Luke and Victoria Geilsman; brother, James Watson; sister-in-law, Christine Watson; special sister, Eleanor Gautney; and life-long friends, Weyman Wart, Frances Cuevas, Jean Bridwell, Maurice Beckham, Doodle Hensarling, Bertha Williams, Eula Hinton, Nancy Carol McLemore, Brandy Gautney, and David Young. Pallbearers will be Tom Mosley, Sean Williams, David Young, Dale Beasley, Keith Brister, Cliff Varndo. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Domico, Tony Blake and Boudro Warr. A special thanks to Dr. Charles Hargon, Dr. Desai, Dr. Brown and their staffs, Willis Knighton Hospice and Willis Knighton Chemo and Cancer Center. Rose-Neath Southside 687-1256
