SHREVEPORT, LA - Graveside services for Dorothy "Dot" LaBorde Mitchell, 86, will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 5, 2014 at Forest Park St. Vincent Cemetery. Officiating will be Bro. Tommy Allen, pastor of Light House Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel, 2500 Southside Drive.
Dot was born on March 21, 1928 in Shreveport, LA and passed away on September 2, 2014. She loved cooking for her family and friends. She also enjoyed hosting "The Annual" Christmas Party at her home for over 40 years. She will be dearly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Belford and Sibbie LaBorde; son, William Earl Mitchell. Left to cherish her memory is the love of her life for 70 years, Milton E. Mitchell "Sonny"; son, Ronald Wayne Mitchell; sisters, Earline Wilkerson, Ellen Woodruff and Edna Whyte; grandchildren, Ronnie Saucier, Michele Pittman, Christy Grantham and Tonya Vicknair; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Danny Wilburn, Ronald Kidwell, Rusty Grantham, Johnnie Reed, Bennie Reed and Roger Pender.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Willis Knighton North and Hospice for the care that she was given.
