Celebration of Life services for Mrs. Dorothy Jean Isbell Tibbit, 72, will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 6, 2014, in the sanctuary of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Shreveport, LA, with Dr. Chad Hardbarger officiating. Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of the NW LA Veterans cemetery, Keithville, LA, under the direction of Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. The family would like to welcome guests for visitation Tuesday, August 5, 2014, during the hours of 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the Rose-Neath Southside Chapel, Shreveport, LA. Jean was born September 7, 1941, in Taft, TN, and passed away on August 1, 2014, following a lengthy battle with breast cancer. She was a devoted member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school. She retired as Supervisor of Fines and Bonds for the Caddo Parish Sheriff's office. Jean was preceded in death by her father, Albert Edward Isbell; one son, James Brian Tibbit; and one sister, Judy Isbell Smith. Left to cherish the beautiful memories of Jean will be her husband of 57 years Mr. Ronnie Tibbit; one son, Keith Tibbit and wife Amy; one daughter-in-law, Lynn Tibbit; four grandchildren: Alex, Andrew, Anne Alease and Clay Tibbit; mother, Alease Williford, two sisters: Janet Isbell McCaa and husband Donnie, Debbie Isbell Wilson and husband Raiford; one brother, John Paul Williford and wife Barbara along with numerous extended family members and many beloved friends. Honoring Jean as pallbearers will be Larry Ross, Mike Gaddis, Harry Fletcher, George Smith, Lonnie Gilley and Larry Gilley. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Louis Parvino Men's Sunday School Class. Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 5850 Buncombe Rd., Shreveport, LA 71129. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Michael Moore, Dr. Ashok Kompelli, and WK Hospice of LA for their care and compassion in this time of need.
