Dorothy Elaine Woods

A Memorial Service for Dorothy “Elaine” Hodge Woods, 73, will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Dr. Murry Hodge.

Elaine was born on May 19, 1950 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Horace Lane Hodge, Sr. and Dorothy Louise Kappen Hodge and passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024 in Shreveport.

Elaine was a resident of Shreveport. She was the eldest of four children. She worked in Property and Casualty Insurance until she retired. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, family, and especially her grandbabies.

Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Dorothy Hodge; stepparents, Bill and Vivian Woods; grandparents; and sister-in-law, Charlotte Woods Ambrose. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 11 years, Billie Woods; daughter, Deborah Elaine Acosta and husband, Chris; son, Michael Wayne Prothro; stepdaughter, Kaylin Woods; stepson, Samuel Woods; sister, Anna Hodge; brothers, H.L. Jay Hodge and wife, Amelia, Frank Edward Hodge; sister-in-law, Tammy Heggenstaller and husband, Dan; brother-in-law, Gary Ambrose; grandchildren, Ashleigh Watson and fiancé, Josh Harvey, Claudia Hampton, Christopher Acosta and fiancé, Megan; great-grandchildren, Emmaleigh Louise and Amara Claire; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
