KEITHVILLE, LA - This week we lost our father, our friend, our son, and our brother, Douglas Wayne King.
Much like his daily choice of clothing, his life was cut too short for all of us. Hey was 56 years old and died of natural causes. He left this side of eternity peacefully in his sleep on February 21, 2017.
He will be remembered for his energy, his spunk, his love, his peculiarities, his inventiveness, his resourcefulness; he had much wisdom in keeping his house in order, with fixing cars, on Louisiana history, surviving in the woods, repairing just about anything under the sun, duct taping just about anything under the sun, and gutting and skinning any animal under the sun. This is how we will remember his life and his legacy.
We remember the way he loved his kids. The way he loved his wife. The way he loved his closest friends. The way he loved his brothers and sisters. The way he loved his mom and dad. The way he loved his dogs. We remember how he lived his life.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Sue Wilson King and his oldest sister, Pamela Sue King. Doug is survived by his eldest son Cameron H. King and his wife Bethany; his youngest son Kyle M. King and his wife Emily. His father, Harold W. King and wife, Sandra; Brother, Bruce W. King and wife Kayla; Brother Kenneth R. King; Sister Dawn M. King. Grandchildren Alexander King, Annabelle King, and Step-Grandchild, Aubrie Barnard.
To honor Doug's life, there will be a gathering of close friends and family Friday, March 3, 5-8 p.m. at Bruce and Kayla\'s house: 373 Mayo Rd. Shreveport, LA 71106.
