Douglas Logan

Douglas Logan – faithful, loving husband of 65-plus years and strong, steadfast father of a son and two daughters, grandfather of two, and an avid LSU fan – left his earthly home the evening of Tuesday 22 January 2025 and entered into the presence and comfort of Christ Jesus his Lord and Savior. For some, the phrase “God, family, country” is just a slogan. For him it was the guiding principle of his life. As beautifully expressed by his favorite hymn, “The Old Rugged Cross” – he cherished the cross and the mercy it represents. He also cherished his family and his many lifelong friends and deeply loved the United States of America. An honorably discharged Veteran, he graduated from both Northwestern State University and LSU – Baton Rouge and later retired from the Library of Congress. In his work there as a purchasing agent, he was instrumental in coordinating a display of the Dead Sea Scrolls in the USA. It was among his proudest accomplishments.

He is preceded in death by his parents and several siblings and survived by his beloved wife Charlotte Logan, son Carlus Logan, and daughters Dannette Moench and Sarah Logan, grandson Andy Lavinus and granddaughter Olivia Moench, as well as brothers Robert Joseph Logan and Bill Logan, and cousin Jesse Aubrey Locke.

Graveside services will be held Monday, January 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Providence Cemetery in Ringgold, Louisiana under the direction of Rose Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana.
