Dr. Arthur Jewel Franklin

BOSSIER CITY, LA. - Funeral services celebrating the life of Dr. Arthur Jewel Franklin, age 82 will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Airline Baptist Church with Rev. Harrell Shelton, associate pastor of Airline Baptist Church officiating. Interment to follow at the Gardens of Memory Memorial Park, 1527 Lewisville Road, Minden, LA at 2:00 pm. There will be a time of visitation on Tuesday, October 21^st from 5:30-7:30 pm at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Bossier City, LA. Dr. Franklin was born in Minden, LA on February 23, 1932 to Zemriah and Opal O'Rear Franklin and passed away on October 19, 2014 at his residence in Bossier City. He was a retired teacher of education, veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Airline Baptist Church. Dr. Franklin is preceded in death by his parents, Zemriah and Opal O'Rear Franklin. He survived by his wife of 61 years Betty Franklin of Bossier City, LA; son, Ron Franklin and wife Suzanne of West Monroe, LA and daughter, Janet Sampson and husband, Keith of Bossier City, LA. Dr. Franklin is also survived by his grandchildren, Matthew Franklin, Jennifer Wyatt, Tyler Franklin, Logan Sampson, Connor Sampson, Alyssa and Landon Sampson and 4 great grandchildren. The family has requested that memorials be made to charity of donor's choice.
