Earl R. Owen

SHREVEPORT, LA - The life of Earl Richard Owen age 90, will be celebrated Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. Rev. George Bloomingdale will be officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, November 20, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Earl was born August 10, 1925 in Winnfield, LA. He was a graduate of ULM and LSU and worked oil rigs offshore and overseas. Gardening was his passion and he gave the bounty to church members and friends. He always had a pocket full of mints which he gave to everyone he met. His graciousness and kindness will be truly missed by all this loving man touched. He was preceded in death by his parents, Auzzie and Travis Owen, 9 brothers and 2 sisters. Survived by his son, James Earl Owen, sister, Faye Swartout and Jay Swartout, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
