Funeral services for Earnest Lee Jackson, 87, will be held Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 2pm. Visitation will be immediately before the service at 12 noon at Cypress Baptist Church in Benton, LA. Burial will be at Rose-Neath Cemetery, Swan Lake Rd. Officiating will be Bro. Billy Pierce and Pastor John Fream.
Earnest Jackson was born on October 6, 1930 in Lewisville, AR and went home to be with the Lord on January 29, 2018.
Preceding him in death was his daughter Patricia Jackson Tate and son Michael Lane Jackson, and parents Paul and Annie Jackson.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Geraldine Malone Jackson of 67 years, daughter Deborah Lewis and husband Delmar Ray, daughter in law Donna Soileau Jackson, grandchildren Jodie Jenkins, Stacey Holder, Reese Jackson, Rocky Tate, Ashley Kerley and Eric Lewis, and nine great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Annette Wilson and husband Marc of Sachse, TX, Philip Jackson and wife Myrel of Shreveport, LA, Phyllis Ferris and husband Wil of Shreveport, LA.
Mr. Jackson originally from Springhill, LA moved to Benton, LA in 1972 to establish Cypress Inn Catfish Restaurant. He was a member of Cypress Baptist Church. He also served on the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office Posse for a number of years.
Pallbearers will be Skeeterhawk, Duane Deen, Larry Deen, Trey Beene, David Loftin and John Jackson. Honorary pallbearer is Rusty Weaver.
His greatest passion in life was hunting and fishing, but more than anything he fiercely loved his family. To know him was to love him, he was truly one of a kind.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Cypress Baptist building fund or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
