Earnest W. Mason

SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services for Earnest Wesley Mason, 90, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at King's Temple United Pentecostal Church, 8951 Kingston Road, Shreveport, LA with Rev. Damon Magee and Bishop Michael Hudspeth officiating. Interment will follow at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at King's Temple United Pentecostal Church. Mr. Earnest Mason was born on September 17, 1923 and entered into rest on July 25, 2014 at his home with his family at his bedside. He was a veteran of World War II. He was honorably discharged from the military services of the United States Army with the awards of Purple Heart, Bronze Star and World War II Victory Medal. He served in Rhineland and Central Europe. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lottie Mason; son, Charles David Mason. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 68 years, Arlene Mason; his daughter, Linda Mason Peace and husband, William Peace, his son, James Mason, his son Bobby Mason and wife, Carolyn Mason, his son, Donnie Mason and wife, Susan Mason, his daughter, Betty Mason Patterson and husband, Art Patterson, his son, Kenny Mason and wife, Kim Mason, his daughter, Carol Mason, and his daughter, Judy Mason Myre; 29 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Dewanna Mason and a son-in-law, Reginald Myre. Pallbearers for the services will be Joseph Patterson, Kevin Peace, Michael Mason, Ryan Myre, Jeremy Peace, and Daniel Patterson.
