A funeral service for Edison Authur Mayeaux Jr. will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, in the Chapel of Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home Located on 334 Acton Road in Marksville.
Edison Authur Mayeaux, Jr., age 52, of Plaucheville, Louisiana, entered into rest on June 30, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born in Simmesport, La., on January 31, 1972, to Natalie and Edison Mayeaux, Sr. He loved music, especially playing the guitar and singing. Some of his favorite songs to sing were “Born on the Bayou”, “Love Will Keep Us Together” and “What A Wonderful World”. He enjoyed woodworking in his free time and making a good “Steamboat” gravy. Above all else, Edison was a family man who deeply loved his wife, children and grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to show them.
He is preceded in death by his father, Edison Authur Mayeaux, Sr.; Paternal grandparents, Edward “Jap” and Minnie Mayeaux; Maternal grandparents, Alex “Boot” and Mae Lemoine; his uncle, T-Coon and Aunt Patty; Nephew, Joseph Adams and his Heavenly sons, Payton and Nicholas.
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Natalie Mary Scallan (Lynn Scallan) of Plaucheville; wife, Allison Mayeaux of Plaucheville; three sons: Matthew Mayeaux (Holly) of Plaucheville, Tyler Bowman (Erica) of Plaucheville, and Tristan “Noonie” Mayeaux (Sarah) of Plaucheville. Two sisters, Anita Mayeaux of Mansura and Roxanne Johns (Phil) of Denham Springs as well as seven grandchildren whom he loved very, very much.
A visitation will be held beginning at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday July 3, 2024, and will last until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
