FT. WORTH, TX / SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services for Mrs. Edith R. Youngblood, age 86, will be held at 11:30, Monday, October 13, 2014 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel, Shreveport, LA with the Rev. Ronald Dunn officiating. A tribute entitled "The Mother we knew" will be given by her daughter, Pat Trammell. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel.
Mrs. Youngblood was born on December 18, 1927 in Fouke, Arkansas to Andrew and Cora Rutherford and passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 in White Settlement, TX. She was a former member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Shreveport, LA. She served and extended her labor of love in many churches in Northwest, LA. She was a former resident of Shreveport, LA and had made her home in FT. Worth, TX since 2012. She was a retired employee of twenty years from AT&T in Shreveport, LA. She is preceded in death by her parents, father of her children, John B. Youngblood; son, Johnny Ray Youngblood, daughter, Carolyn Purdy; brothers Lee and Marion Rutherford; and sister, Judy Tyler.
She is survived by her daughters, Pat Trammell and husband, Roy of Prairieville, LA; Sue McKinney and husband, Barry of White Settlement, TX; Nila Diane Savage of Elkhorn, NB and father of her children; Jeff Savage; son, John Allen Youngblood and partner R.J. Jiuliante, Jr. of North Richland Hills, TX; seven grandchildren, Dayton Plunkett, Jr., Robbie Trammell, Jason Bohannon, Dustin Nunley, Jeri Willman, Sheree Savage and Austin Savage; twelve great-grandchildren, Rebekah, Brady, Tyler, Nicole, Danielle, Drake, Britney, Mila, Brianna, Gene, Journie and Ayden; two sisters; Effie Floyd of Columbia, LA, Merlyn Smith of Shreveport, LA; one brother, James Rutherford of Shreveport, LA.
Pallbearers will be Dayton Plunkett, Jr., Robbie Trammell, Jason Bohannon, Dustin Nunley, Austin Savage, Jeff Savage, and R.J. Jiulante, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers are Charles Purdy, Ray Page, Stephen Wright, Billy Wayne, Bobby Floyd, and Thomas L. Smith, Jr.
Thanks to the Community Hospice of Texas; Nurses Sharon, Brandi, Czerina Pureza-Beltran and Pam; Dr. Kathleen Crowley, the Castleberry Baptist Church and a special family friend, Carol Winthrop.
Mrs. Youngblood was a women full of love that never gave up, one that was always giving herself to her family, friends, and neighbors. She loved God with all of her heart and loved each day God gave her.
