Edward D.C. (Ted) Bartlett

Funeral services for Edward D.C. Bartlett will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 12:00 noon at Rose Neath Chapel in Minden, Louisiana with visitation at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Point Chapel Cemetery in Doyline, Louisiana.

Edward was born August 20, 1932, in Woodford Essex, England and entered into rest April 13, 2024, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He and his wife Joan had four children, Rosemary, Gillian, Marianne, and Lawrence. He graduated from East Ham Grammar School, London in 1951 with a State Scholarship, graduated from University College, London in Mathematics (and engineering) in 1954, was married in 1954, and came to the states in 1969 becoming a citizen in 1978. He was qualified as a British Patent Attorney, European Patent Attorney, and US Patent Agent. He operated his own practice in Maryland from 1980 till retiring in 2003. Early 2003, he and his wife moved to Doyline, Webster Parish. He had an active life in Minden, Shreveport, and Bossier City, particularly in relation to helping alcoholics and drug addicts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward C. Bartlett and Agnes Bartlett, and sister Patricia Tombs.

He is survived by his wife, Joan A. Bartlett, son, Lawrence Bartlett, daughters, Rosemary Bartlett Schilf, Marianne Bartlett Anthony, and Gillian Bartlett Taylor, grandchildren, Sean and James Davies, Tyler and Brandon Anthony, and Madelyn Bartlett, and great-grandchildren, James and Genevie Davies, Morgan Camden, and Hadley Davies.

 Pallbearers will be Roy Taylor, Tyler and Brandon Anthony, Lawrence Bartlett, Joe Anthony, and John Jennings.
