SHREVEPORT, LA - Graveside services for Edward Phillips "Phil" George will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, July 15, 2016 at Springridge Cemetery on Hwy. 175 between Belmont and Pleasant Hill, LA. Rev. Pat Cobbs will officiate. Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home in Shreveport.
Our beloved son, brother and friend, Edward Phillips George, known by his friends and family as Phil, left us Sunday, July 10, 2016 to join his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in heaven. He was 53 years old. Phil was born on June 7, 1963 in Shreveport, LA and was the second of six children born to Tom and Rosemarie George. He lived his entire life in Shreveport and worked as the Operations Manager at VyComp Production Machining. Phil was an intelligent, well-read man, who traveled extensively, loved camping, fishing, sailing and scuba diving. He was a gourmet cook and loved to prepare fabulous meals for his friends and family. He was charming, kind and generous. A wonderful devoted son, brother, and uncle. Always willing to help someone in need.
Phil is survived by his parents, Tom and Rosemarie; sisters Leslie Mace and husband Marty, Rosanne Bacon and husband George; brothers Tim George, Daniel George and wife Kelly, and Patrick George and wife Christy; nieces Kyra and Lexie; nephews Alex, Andrew, Jarred, Connor and Nathan; along with extended family and numerous friends who will miss him dearly.
Honorary pallbearer will be Kemp Mcarty.
Honoring Phil as pallbearers will be Connor Bacon, George Bacon, Wendell Tilley, Patrick George, Daniel George, and Timothy George.
