Funeral services for Elder Lowell Dean McClain, 96, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2018 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel, Shreveport, LA with Elder Joshua McClain and Elder Wayne Painter officiating. A graveside service will follow at New Ramah Cemetery in Haynesville, LA at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2018 and from 10:00 a.m. to service time Monday, May 7, 2018 at the funeral home. Lowell was born July 29, 1921 in Kirby, AR to Sherman and Laura McClain and went to home to be with the Lord on May 3, 2018 in Shreveport. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII. He was a minister of the Primitive Baptist Church. Lowell was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Juanita McClain; second wife, Mary McClain; and sisters, Lois Guinn and Lorene Davis. Left to cherish his memory are his brother, Elder Paul McClain; sons, Glenn McClain and wife Sandra, Larry McClain and wife Cathy, and Tim McClain and wife Kathy; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of friends and family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harmony Plains Singing School or to Harmony Hill Singing School. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Matriano-Lim, Dr. Shah, Dr. White, and the WK South 3rd floor staff for their care.
