TYLER, TX - A Mass of Christian Burial for Elizabeth Anne Connella Barton will be 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Bossier City, LA. Officiating will be Father Karl Daigle of Christ the King. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park, Haughton, LA. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2015 at Rose-Neath Bossier Funeral Home, Bossier City.
Elizabeth was born November 10, 1942 in Shreveport, LA. During her childhood, Liz lived in Bossier City, LA with her parents, William "Sarge" Connella and Annie Jimes Connella. She grew up amidst a beloved extended family on Kelly Street, graduated from Bossier City High School and was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. As an adult, Liz raised her two children and resided in Tyler, TX until her death on September 28, 2015. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Richard E. Barton of Tyler, TX. A son, Bryan Barton and wife, Roxanne of Houston, TX and a daughter, Lisa Barton of Frisco, TX. Her brothers, Michael Connella III and wife, Chloe of Sulphur, LA and Raphael Connella and wife, Mary of Bossier City, LA. Her sister, Genevieve Connella Hairston of Dallas.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Currier, Cory Amundson, Mike Arrington, Dennis Young, Dwayne Connella and Mark Connella.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to East Texas Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
