Funeral services for Elizabeth Merritt Parker, 74, will be held Saturday, August 14, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Arcadia, Louisiana, with Brother Jeff Hoffman officiating. Interment will follow at Hurricane Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday August 13, 2021, from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Liz was born February 11, 1947, to Jack and Laverne Merritt in Sarepta, Louisiana and passed away August 9, 2021, in Arcadia, Louisiana. Liz was an X-ray technician and worked for Bienville Family Medical Clinic in Arcadia for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Arcadia. She loved collecting angels and had a collection she was very proud of. Liz was a true loving mother; she loved everybody and was completely devoted to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Laverne Merritt; husband, Gaylen Parker; brothers, Roger Merritt, and J.L. Merritt; sisters, Earlene Krouse and Eloise LaBorde. Liz is survived by her sons, Robert Parker and Michael Shannon Parker; grandchildren, Kyle Parker, Brandon Parker, Michael Parker, Katie Duncan, Robert Parker II and Samantha Kendall; great grandchildren Cole Parker, Jackson Kendall and Audrey Duncan; brother, Raymond Merritt; and sister, Cynthia Evans. Pallbearers will be Taff Watts, Bradley Caraway, Shane Alton, Daniel Dotson, Josh Johnson and Fisher Lary.
