Elizabeth Ursuline Poss

HOMER, LA; Funeral services were held for Mrs. Elizabeth Ursuline Poss, 89, at St. Margaret Catholic Church of Homer on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Kallarackal officiating. Interment followed at Arlington Cemetery in Homer. The family received friends at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer on Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Rosary followed at 7:00 p.m. Mrs. Poss was born December 14, 1927 in Akron, OH to John Walter and Bernadette Cosgrove. She entered into rest Tuesday, July 18, 2017. Mrs. Poss was a loving daughter, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Poss was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 68 years, Elmer Joseph Poss; son-in-law, H.L. McLaughlin; grandson, David Pipes; and granddaughter, Kristin Becker. She is survived by two sons, Robert John Poss of Calhoun, LA, and Mark Poss and his wife Carmen of El Dorado, AR; two daughters, Rita Massey and husband Larry of Calhoun, LA and Mary Louise Eaves and husband John of West Monroe, LA; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special thanks to all the caregivers who were attentive to Mrs. Poss' needs; Lisa Ford, Tasha Montgomery, Tamanika Gilbert, Olivia Smith, Renee Henderson and Regional Hospice. Pallbearers were Joseph Poss, Jason Poss, Doodle Johnston, J. O. Haywood, Terry Martin and Gary Smith. In lieu of flowers honoring Mrs. Poss, her family suggests donations be made to St. Margaret Catholic Church of Homer or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
