Elizabeth "Carol" Andrews

Shreveport, LA - A funeral service for Elizabeth "Carol" Andrews, 88, will be held on Friday, May 29, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, LA. A visitation will be held Thursday, May 28, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Forest Park Cemetery, Meriwether Rd. Officiating will be Pastor John Lary. Carol was born on October 1, 1931 in Shreveport, Louisiana to George L. and Bessie Erskine and passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2020. She graduated from Fair Park High School in 1949 and married Frank Andrews on September 30, 1955. Carol won several team trophies while coaching with COSST and SPAR, and taught Water Babies over the course of her career. She taught swimming for over 30 years and she authored a booklet titled "Pull-Pull Kick-Kick" with instructions on teaching babies to swim. In addition to her love of swimming, she loved watching football and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. She also loved going to church at Calvary Baptist. Carol is preceded in death by her parents, George and Bessie Erskine and her sister-in-law Mary Alice Erskine. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Frank; sons Frank III "Andy" and wife Irena, William "Billy" and wife Cathy, John and wife Lisa. She is also survived by her brother George L. Erskine, Jr.; grandsons Kyle and wife Kaitlyn, Jacob and great-grandson Beaux ; and niece Yvette Coughlin and husband Mike. Serving as pallbearers will be Jacob Andrews, Kyle Andrews, Leroy Erskine, Mike Coughlin, James Rigdon, and Rex Taylor.. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to Calvary Faith Missions at 9333 Linwood Ave., Shreveport, LA 71106 and Price Harris Ministries at 438 Mars Dr., Shreveport, LA 71106.
