HOMER, LA: Funeral services were held for Mrs. Elizabeth A. Rogers, 81, in the Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. R. B. Moore, officiating. Interment followed in Arlington Cemetery of Homer. The family received friends at the funeral home for visitation on Thursday from 5-7 p.m.
Mrs. Rogers was born February 25, 1935 in the Arizona Community, LA to Evan and Lillian Edwards Robinson. She entered into rest on Monday, February 29, 2016 in Homer, LA. Mrs. Rogers worked for the Claiborne Clerk of Court Office for over 20 years as Deputy Clerk. As a legal secretary, she worked in the office of Shaw & Shaw. Mrs. Rogers was employed as a bookkeeper with Robinson Pontiac. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Alpha Service Club both of Homer.
Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, John Bridwell Bolling, Sr.; a daughter, Cindy A. Bolling; a brother, Ronald Robinson; and a daughter-in-law, Vicki Rogers.
She is survived by her second husband of 41 years, J. C. Rogers, Jr.; 3 sons, John Bridwell "Britt" Bolling, Jr. and wife Lori of Homer, Jeff Rogers of Bossier City and Brad Rogers of Homer; a daughter, Sherry Champion of Uncertain, TX; a sister, Bettye Jo Perry and husband Wayne of Homer; a sister-in-law, Cora Lou Robinson of Minden; 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Colin Rogers, Chase Rogers, Pat Gladney, Bryan Flynn, Dylan Perry and David Bolling.
Honorary pallbearer were Bishop Carpenter, Rusty Taylor and Whit Perry.
In lieu of flowers honoring Mrs. Rogers, her family suggests memorials be to First United Methodist Church or Arlington Cemetery of Homer.
