Ellen Fay Cornett Humphrey

Funeral services celebrating the life of Ellen Fay Humphrey, age 87 will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 705 S. Spruce Street, Vivian, LA with Pastor Toby Frake officiating, assisted by Pastor C. V. Holley. Interment will follow at Huffines Cemetery, Huffines, Texas. Visitation will be held Friday, December 27, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Humphrey was born in Pecan Gap, TX on July 25, 1937 to Ross Cornett and Ella Blanch Pruitt and went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 22, 2024 in Vivian, LA. She was a member of the First Church in Vivian, LA. Mrs. Humphrey loved to sew and was an avid quiltmaker. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother who loved and cherished her family by who she will be greatly missed. Above all she loved the Lord and was a devoted prayer warrior.

Mrs. Humphrey was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Raymond Howard Humphrey; sisters, Dessie, Thelma, Frances, Louise Nelda, Juanita, Jean and Liz; brothers, Ray, Edmond, Billy and Buddy; son, Curtis Humphrey; step-son, Billy Ray Humphrey and son-in-law, James Matthews. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Linda Heath and husband, Wilbert, Debrah Bourque and husband, John, Shelia Matthews and Howard Ray Humphrey. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kenny Humphrey and wife, Mary, Angel Mayfield and husband, Gabby, Lisa Robbins and husband, Billy, Robin Taylor Wooten and Todd, Candace Poindexter and husband, Allan, Timothy Humphrey, Kevin Humphrey and Megan Innis; great grandchildren, John Raymond, Angela, Brittany, Releigh, Presley, Cooper, Tinsley, Kira, Neveah, Mayla, Dixie, and Kenny Ray; great-great grandchildren, Curtis, Brianna, Angel Marie, Little John and Cory; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Those honoring Mrs. Humphrey as pallbearers will be Dennis Cornett, Wyatt Clark, Billy Robbins, Matthew Mayfield, Greg Cornett, Todd Wooten and Mason Rabalais.
