Visitation will be held 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Shreveport, LA - Graveside services for Ellen Marie Lowrey, 86, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 23, 2015 at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery. Officiating will be Brother Cecil Marr and Dr. Steve Petty. Marie was born on March 12, 1929 to Thomas and Avery Browning in Frankston, Texas. She grew up in Carthage, Texas and graduated from Carthage High School in 1947. After becoming a Registered Nurse, she worked for many years at Willis Knighton Hospital in Shreveport. She passed away March 18, 2015. She was a member of Pinecroft Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents; ex-husband, Maxie Lowrey; brothers, Eddie Browning and wife, Agnes, and Tolbert Browning; and sister, Ann Jackson and husband, Jesse. She is survived by daughter, Helen Ruth Peters and husband, Weldon; brother, Reverend Gus Browning and wife, Jackie; sister, Jean Gervais; and her loving dog, Pee Wee. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Weldon Peters, Paul Pierce, Lucky Busby, Mike Grable, Cade Martin, and Alan Presley. Rose-Neath Southside 2500 Southside Drive318-687-1256
