GLOSTER, LA - A memorial service celebrating the life of Elmer Vernon Britt, 63, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 26, 2016 at Landmark Baptist Church, HWY 171, Stonewall, LA. Officiating the service will be Pastor Jerrell Head and Pastor Doug Lovett. Elmer was born on July 16, 1952 in Pleasant Hill, LA to Solomon and Jennie Britt. He went home to join his Savior, Jesus Christ on February 19, 2016. Elmer was a man of faith who had a passion for the outdoors. He was a generous man who could always be counted on in times of need. As follower of Christ, he always placed the Lord first. Words cannot describe the love he had for his children, grandchildren, and his adoring wife of 29 years, Brenda. Awaiting his arrival home are his parents, Solomon and Jennie Britt; his brothers Dallas, Muriel and Ollie Britt. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Brenda Britt; daughters, Jamie Lee (Jonathan), Pamela Brown, Bridget Britt Speir (Rickey), Alicia Britt Webster (Daryl); son, Jason Mann (Elizabeth); sister, Theresa Rutherford (Tim); brothers, Raleigh Britt (Shannon), Perry Britt (Jeannie); mother-in-law, Ina Culpepper; sisters-in-law Cris Harrison (Randy), Shirley Britt; fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to Dr. Manish Dhawan, Dr Chen, Lauren Scheffy and the staff at Christus Schumpert Highland and Highland Clinic Oncology for all the love, care, prayers and support they all gave to Elmer and his family.
