Elsie Barnhill

Elsie Barnhill left for Heaven on December 26, 2017 after a lengthy illness. Born in Marthaville, LA. She married her high school sweet heart, Rufus "Bill" Barnhill and moved to Shreveport, LA. She is survived by her 2 children, Judy Rambin and husband Onnie, Darrell Barnhill and wife June; 4 granddaughters, Robin Rambin, Kelli Westmoreland and husband Donnie, April Schnebelen and husband Dan, Amy Berlin and husband Brock, as well as 8 great grands, Noah and Jacob Westmoreland, Andrew, Cole and Avery Schnebelen, Gracie, Briggs and Ava Berlin. She is also survived by brothers Ray and Roy Mitchell and sister Dollie Barnhill. Celebration of her life will be Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Visitation with the family will be held at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Pastor Denny Duron will be officiating. Interment will be at Forest Park West following services. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Donnie, Noah and Jacob Westmoreland, Dan and Andrew Schnebelen and Brock Berlin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Cole Schnebelen and Briggs Berlin. She is preceded in death by her husband Rufus "Bill" Barnhill, parents Joe Levi Mitchell and Mary Ola Mitchell; brother, Earnest Mitchell; sisters, Eula O'Quinn, Eunice Berry, Loyce Laun, Iris Smith and Eloise Barnhill. Her family would like to thank the staff of Life Care for their compassion and care. She served her Lord as a faithful member of Shreveport Community Church and is now rejoicing with Him.
