Funeral services for Elsie S. McMillon will be held Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden, Louisiana with Rev. Ronnie Whitlock officiating. Interment will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery in Bienville, Louisiana. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday, December 4, 2015 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden. Elsie was born March 24, 1928 in Bienville, Louisiana and entered into rest December 1, 2015 in Minden, Louisiana. She was a member of Beech Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents Otis Aubrey and Lois Thurmon Simmons, first husbnad Henry Van Calhoun, brothers Bruce, Ernest, Aubrey, Cecil, Joe, Fred and Loyd Simmons, and sister Clara Lewis. She is survived by her husband Carnes E. McMillon of Minden, son Michael Henry Calhoun and wife Fran of Homer, daughter Ruby C. McClaran and husband John of Minden, sister Nell Taylor and husband Trell of Haynesville, stepson Norman McMillon and wife Sandy of Minden, stepdaughter Barbara Batchelor and husband Malcolm of Ringgold, four grandchildren, eleven step-grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be grandsons and close family friends.
