Elsie Josephine Murph Weileder

A graveside service for Elsie Josephine Murph Weileder, 91, will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, December 1, 2023 at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 7970 Mike Clark Rd., Keithville, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Pastor John Harp.

Elsie was born on September 7, 1932 to Courtland and Ruth Murph in Shreveport, Louisiana and passed away Monday, November 6, 2023 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Elsie attended two years of college studying nursing, ultimately stopping to care for her husband during his illness. She loved playing cards, games and bowling, which she excelled at. She was passionate about baseball and kept records of all the teams and stats. She was considered “spicy” by her grandchildren. She was a talker and she would speak her mind. She always said even though she was old she still had her mind and no one would get anything over her!

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Weileder and daughter, Diane Peters. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Mark Six and Chris Six; daughter, Brenda Jones; 7 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to The Glen Retirement Center, 403 E. Flournoy Lucas Rd, Shreveport, LA 71115.
