BOSSIER CITY, LA - Services celebrating the life of Emerson Ivy Richards will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Broadmoor Baptist Church, Memorial Chapel, with Frank Gunn officiating. Interment will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City, LA. Visitation with the family will be on Friday, December 5, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Rose Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, LA.
Emerson was born on May 16, 2014. During her brief time on earth, Emerson's playful spirit and contagious smile touched the lives of many. Her beautiful soul will live on in all of those blessed to know her. In the loving arms of her parents, Emerson left this world to be with her Lord and Savior on December 1, 2014.
Left to cherish her memory are her parents, T.J. and Madison Richards; her paternal grandparents, Edwin and Brenda Richards of Benton, LA, and Jane Richards of Shreveport, LA; her maternal grandparents, Paul and Penny Hutcheson of Jonesboro, AR, and James Paul Adams and his wife, Monica Laurents, of Bossier City, LA; as well as her great-grandmothers, Margaret Adams of Many, LA and Bernadine Cielesz of Norman, OK. Emerson is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Honoring Emerson as pallbearers will be Tim Sherry, Austin Guthrie, Scott Hanshaw and Wayne Colley.
The family would also like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Bonofacio, Dr. Whitton, Dr. Manchandia and the staff at Willis-Knighton South NICU for the exceptional care they provided Emerson and the entire family. The kindness, acts of compassion and words of comfort from the entire staff made Emerson's difficult journey a little easier. The family is forever grateful that the doctors, nurses and staff fought to give Emerson as much time as possible with those who loved her.
Donations may be made to the local chapter of the March of Dimes in memory of Emerson Ivy Richards.
