SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Emma Todd Dean, 94, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Blanchard Church of Christ; with Brother Leroy Hudson officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Bodcaw Cemetery in Nevada County, AR. Visitation will take place Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Southside.
Mrs. Dean was born April 30, 1921 in Stamps, AR and passed away June 27, 2015 in Shreveport, LA. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother; a testimony of a true Christian woman with a great capacity of love for everyone. She spent 41 years as an LPN in Arkansas, California, Texas and Louisiana. The last 24 years were spent built around her husband; they travelled all over the country together.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elton Tatum and Sara Wise; first husband, Edgar D. Todd, Sr.; daughter, Wortha Lee Todd; son, Michael Ross Todd; sisters, Gladys McCoy, Ruth Vick, Larue McCain, Janie Sue Baken; Mattie Lou Childress, Fadis Alexander; brothers, AP Griffis, Ed Griffis, O'Dell Griffis, William Griffis, Albert Griffis, Roy Griffis, George Earl Griffis, Herbert Griffis and Thomas Lindsay.
Left to cherish her beautiful memory is husband, William C. Dean, Jr.; sons, Edgar D. Todd and wife, Roberta Kay, Bill Dean and wife, Juanita, Clyde Dean and wife, Debbie; daughter-in-law, Terri Todd; daughter, Margaret Anderson and husband, Lee; siblings, Carolyn Lindsay, Dorothy and Eugene Spellman, Francis and Catherine Griffis; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; special nephew, Billy Ebling; brother-in-law, Johnny Alexander and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pall bearers will be Mark Todd, Thomas Todd, Sean Embry, Lee Anderson, Pat Cella and Kent Cella.
