Emma Ruth Flowers

SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral Service for Emma Ruth Flowers, 81, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 30, 2017, at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, Shreveport, LA with Elder Joe Asbell and Elder L. McClain officiating. Burial will be at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2017, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, LA. Emma was born February 6, 1936, in Shreveport, LA to Emma Eunice Roberts Smith and James Monroe Smith and passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy illness with her family by her side June 27, 2017. She was a member of Bethel Primitive Baptist Church. Emma loved traveling, hunting, fishing and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Jerry Smith and Cecil Smith, and granddaughter, Wendy Michelle Shelton. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Howard Flowers, Jr.; her daughters, Carol Day and husband David, Pat Flowers Crawford, and Kathy Lancaster and husband Wayne; grandchildren, Misty Phillips, Brandon Lancaster, Tyler Lancaster, Amy Day Kholman, and David Day, III; and seven great-grandchildren. Honoring Emma as pallbearers will be: David Day, Jr., Wayne Lancaster, Brandon Lancaster, Joey Kohlman, Timmy Flowers and David Day, III. In Lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children
