Emma Jean Nichols

Graveside services for Emma Jean Head Nichols will be held Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Greenwood Cemetery, 130 Stoner Ave., Shreveport, La. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home in Shreveport.

Emma was born August 26, 1924 in Bentonville, Arkansas to P.A. and Una Dove Head and entered into rest on May 7, 2016 in Shreveport, LA.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, James A. Nichols, Sr. and three brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by two sons, James A. Nichols, Jr. and wife, Dianne; Robert G. Nichols and wife, Rhonda; daughter, Carol N. Ramsey and husband, Ben. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Shauna Sexton and husband, Jeff, Heather Flowers, Jeff Nichols and wife, Holly, Dan Nichols and wife, Leslie, Casey Purvis and husband, Tim, Erin Land and husband, Robby and thirteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and a special sister-in-law, Willie Harvey.

The family would like to thank her many loving care givers and friends who have helped take care of her, especially Rachella Kirkwood.
