Shreveport, La - Emmett Allen Costello, 82, of Shreveport, LA, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2015, at the Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home. He was born on December 11, 1932, in Point Marion, PA, to James and Norma Costello. Al was kind, loving, and never left his late wife's side during her battle with cancer. He enjoyed spending his time fishing and grilling on Lake Monterey with his wife, family and friends. Al served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Then went on to work at General Electric, where he retired. He was a member of the El Karubah Shrine in the Alibaba Unit, where he participated in parades. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Joyce Norman Costello; parents, James and Norma Costello; brother, Jim Costello; daughter, Benita Crew. Left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Tamye Pratt and husband Paul, Tammy Costello; son, Jimmy Costello and wife Christy; grandchildren, Heather Brinkley and husband Casey, Madison Pratt, Emmy Pratt, Crystal Walker, Ryan Costello and wife Heather, Stacy Costello, Kristy Parker and husband Matthew; Great Grandchildren, Aubrey Brinkley, Nathan Hall, Zac Phillips, Jonathan Cutler , Gage , Brody and Ella Parker. Services will be held at 12:00 noon Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel; with Pastor Bryan Reed officiating. Interment will follow at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, LA. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 17, 2015 at Rose-Neath Southside. The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to all the staff at the Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home.
