SHREVEPORT, LA-Celebration of Life services for Mr. Ernest Doyle Keel, 87, will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, August 21, 2014 on the grounds of Forest Park West Cemetery, Shreveport, LA, with Brother Delbert Terry of Blanchard Church of the Nazarene officiating. The family would like to welcome guests for visitation Wednesday, August 20, 2014 from the hours of 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Rose-Neath Southside Chapel.
Mr. Doyle was born June 22, 1927 in Norphlet, Ark. to the late Johnnie Williams and Betsy Brown Keel and was called home August 17, 2014 in Shreveport, LA. He was a member of Springs of Grace Baptist Church here in Shreveport. Mr. Doyle enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes and woodworking. He will be remembered for the hardworking and loving family man he became.
Mr. Doyle was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Ralph, Willis and Curtis Keel.
Left to cherish the beautiful memories Mr. Doyle leaves behind will be his beloved wife of 66 years; Peggy J. Keel, one son; Michael Keel and wife Charlotte, one daughter; Deborah K. Ashby and husband Bobby Dale Ashby, three grandchildren: Eric Keel, Christopher Ashby and Lesa Herman and husband Joey, one great-grandson; Wyatt Herman, two brothers: Kenneth Keel and wife Sue and Larry Keel.
The family would like to extend a warm expression of thanks to the St. Joseph Hospice team and all of The Bradford House staffing.
