Estelle B. Nunley

Estelle B. Nunley of Longstreet (Keatchie), Louisiana passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. Estelle was born on January 4, 1938, to Cy and Opal Brown. She married the love of her life Marvin D. Nunley 22 days after the first date and they were married 49 years. She was a pastor’s wife and together they raised their children. She had a talent for many things, she was a beautician, and her home was always open to family and friends. She was “Mimi” to all.

Estelle was preceded in death by her parents, Cy and Opal Brown; husband, (Rev.) Marvin Dane Nunley; son, Marvin D. Nunley, Jr.; sisters, Peggy McIlwain, Geneva Curry, Martha Derbonne, and “little sister” Evonne Irene.

Left to cherish her memory include her children, Carolyn Nunley, Bo Nunley (Laura), and James Nunley (Rhonda); along with 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and countless nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, located at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive in Shreveport. A graveside service honoring the life of Estelle will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, located at Longstreet Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Bro. Ron McLellan. Honoring Estelle as pallbearers will be Dakota Calhoun, Kevin Jackson, Logan Calhoun, Camden Harris, Joshua Calhoun, Caylee Calhoun, and Ashlyn Calhoun. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Hall Burford and Dave Means.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff at Heritage Manor Nursing Home and Willis-Knighton South Hospital for their care, love, and support provided to Estelle and family.
