It is with great sorrow that the family is announcing the death of Eugene Victor Porter, 71, of Bossier City, Louisiana. He passed away on October 23, 2024, at Willis Knighton Bossier.
Victor was born August 8, 1953, in Shreveport, LA, to Aubrey E. and Thelma Porter. The family lived in Bossier City, LA for a few years, but moved to Haughton, LA, just before Victor started school. He went to the first, second and third grades at Haughton High School. When Platt Elementary School opened in 1962, he started the fourth grade and was there until he completed the sixth grade. The family then moved to Benton, LA. He completed his education at Benton High School and graduated in 1971.
While in high school, he excelled in his studies and in sports. He participated in football, basketball, and track. He received many awards for his athletic accomplishments. He was well-liked by the other students and the teachers. He would cut up with the teachers sometimes, but in a fun way. He liked being the center of attention and making people laugh.
He spent several years with the Bossier City Police Department, but eventually went to work for Falco, which later became P&O Falco. This company was later bought by Enron. He worked for Enron for over 20 years until the company collapsed. Due to his experience and his dedication to his job, he was hired by the Plains Marketing. He enjoyed working with the oil trading and transportation business. When it was over, he returned to Louisiana.
