Funeral services celebrating the life of Eunice Cowan, 97, will be held 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will immediately follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park Cemetery, 601 Highway 80 East, Haughton, Louisiana. Officiating will be Chaplain Les Riggs.
Eunice was born on August 18, 1924 in Cloutierville, Louisiana to Clifford Brossett and Josephine Brossett. She passed away on Saturday, October 30, 2021 in Haughton, Louisiana.
Eunice was known as Mama to her children and Granny to others. She was a long-time resident of Princeton, Louisiana where she was a homemaker for years, then went to work in her later years at Louisiana Downs Racetrack in the food service department. Eunice enjoyed visiting with others, doing word search books and eating gumbo, tamales, meat pies, chicken and cracklins. She saw many changes in her lifetime and she relied on the Lord to help her through each day. Her concern was always for others well-being and doing the right thing. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Eunice is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elvern Cowan; four brothers and two sisters. Left to cherish her loving memory are her children, Kenneth Cowan, Jimmy Cowan and wife, Susan, Peggy Barnes and Kathy Harrison and husband, Billy; sister, Maggie Nelson; grandchildren, Tim Harrison and wife, Kelly, Dustin Barnes and wife, Mandy, Misty Barnes, Stan Barnes, Shane Cowan and wife, Amanda, Kimber Huffman and husband, Shane and Zack Cowan and wife, Amber; 20 great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Honoring Eunice as pallbearers will be Dustin Barnes, Shane Cowan, Billy Harrison, and Tim Harrison.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. James Smith and staff, Dr. Alan Borne and Regional Hospice.
