Eva Carolyn Arrington passed away peacefully on January 6, 2021. She was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on April 24, 1938. She was pre-deceased by her husband Jerome (Ting) Arrington. Her survivors include three sons: Jerome "Hank" (Lucy), Timothy, and Willis (Shawn). She leaves behind her two adored grandchildren, Margaret and Ella Arrington, as well as a niece, nephews, and enough cousins to fill a reunion hall.
She was faithful servant of the Lord who saw the best in everyone around her and never let you forget how much she loved you. Her kindness and nurturing side led to a long career in healthcare including working as an x-ray technician and a nurse.
She grew up in Shreveport amongst a large and boisterous family. She loved looking at old photos and regaling her granddaughters with stories of family lore. During their early school years, she made them a hot breakfast every morning, which soon developed into a cherished daily routine ("pancake Monday," "biscuit Tuesday"). Although not the most precise chef, she put her heart into everything she made and chuckled to herself when a dish came out "Eva Morrison burnt brown."
She was a regular attendee (along with her granddaughter Maggie) of Christ Church Vienna. During one sermon, the pastor said that "where our mind wanders to is our biggest distraction from God." She then proceeded to write "what do you want for lunch?" on her program. Her sense of humor served her well throughout her life.
Eva will be buried in Shreveport next to her husband. A celebration of her life will be held later this year. Donations in her memory may be made to your local food bank.
