Eva Ellen Hanson

SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services for Eva Ellen Wilburn Hanson, 84, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 20, 2015 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport. Interment will follow at Jackson Cemetery in Joaquin, TX. Officiating will be Dr. Petty. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 19, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Southside. Mrs. Eva Wilburn was born on September 15, 1931 in Patroon, TX to Eli Wheeler Wilburn and Mary Ella Richardson Wilburn. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 16, 2015. She worked at Center, TX for the Warren Hospital for 2 years before marrying Lester W. Hanson. Then went to Travis AFB where Lester was stationed. Her first child, Kay Ellen Hanson was born there. Eva also worked a short time at LSU Hospital and twice for Shriners Hospital for Children, and graduated from LSU Shreveport in 1982. Spent 3 years in England and had her second child, son, Kenneth Lester Hanson. Eva is preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, two brothers, daughter, Kay Ellen Hanson Montemurro, and husband, Lester W. Hanson. She is survived by son, Rev. Kenneth Lester Hanson; grandchildren, Anthony, Amy, April, and Amon Hanson. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. Eva was a friend to all and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Eva will be greatly missed.
