Funeral Services for Evelyn L. Smith will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, LA. Interment will follow in Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Avenue. Officiating will be Monsignor Carson J. LaCaze. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Evelyn was born January 20, 1942, in Shreveport, La to Homer and Edna Prudhomme and passed away April 20, 2018, in Shreveport. She was a parishioner of St. John Berchman Cathedral in Shreveport. Evelyn was Co-Owner and manager of Prudhomme's Paramedical Register for thirty years, and then retired from the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office after twelve years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her Brother-In-Law, Ronnie Smith. Evelyn is survived by her husband of Sixty Years, James R. Smith; son, James R. Smith, Jr. and wife, Dawn; daughter, Evelyn Walker and husband, Chris; sister, Edna Handlon and husband, Bob; grandchildren, Matthew Smith, Stacey Smith, Heather Stout, Lauren Dew and husband, David, Cody Walker and wife, April, Emily Walker, Amanda Walker and Megan Smith and husband, Nathan; great-grandchildren, Cody Blake Walker, Hunter Banks and Justin Smith; nieces, Christina Hennessy and husband, J.C., Susan Hemminghaus and husband, Dan and Mary Beth Smith; nephew, Robert Handlon; great-nieces, Ronnie Lynn Hennessy and Mena Hemminghaus; great-nephews, Jack Hennessy and Bodie Hemminghaus.
