Evon Bush

KEITHVILLE, LA - Evon Bush passed away on December 28, 2015 at her home after a lengthy illness at the age of 85. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home. Funeral services for Evon will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. Officiating will be Bro. Donald Ray Bush. Evon was born in Negreet, LA to Leo and Judy Miller, on May 30, 1930. She was of the Baptist Faith and a member of Faith Baptist Church. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Evon was preceded in death by her parents and sister's Hazel Branam, Inez Nelson, Jackie Waters and one infant sister and brother. Her husband of 48 years, Riley J. Bush and son, Jerel Bush. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Charlotte Bush, Gary Bush, Diane Hudgens and husband, Mark and Ray Bush; 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and sister, Monita Speight. Also are numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Honoring Evon as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Shean Payne, Jonathan Bush, Loren Elwell, Eric Sparks, Joey Bush, and Joe Simpson. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, great-grandsons, Bubba Green, and Ronald Anderson. The family would like to say a special thanks to the staff of St. Joseph Hospice, Courtney, Toni, Lisa, and Charlotte for their loving care of our mother. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in memory of Evon to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
