A Graveside Service for Faye Kidd Braswell, 85, of Bossier City, will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Rose-Neath Cemetery, 5185 Swan Lake Road, Bossier City, Louisiana, at 1:00 p.m. Officiating the service will be Pastor Andrew Brewster.
Faye Kidd Braswell was born on July 22, 1938, to Hershel Kidd and Juanita Crain Kidd, in Winnfield, Louisiana and went to be with her Lord and savior on Monday, January 1, 2024, in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Faye grew up in Dixie Inn playing piano for the lord and her family in the Antioch Baptist Church and graduated from Minden High School in 1956 and Louisiana Tech with an associate degree in 1958. She worked as a Civil Service Administrator for the 8th Air Force for over 30 years until she retired.
Faye was a loving, caring, and wonderful mother to her only child and the love of her life Mark. She always made sure he had the things he needed and kept him actively involved in sports, Cub Scouts, camps, and various organizations to help guide him to be the great man she knew he could be. She was there by his side cheering him on and supporting him through everything he did. As much as she loved her son nothing could prepare her for the love, she would feel for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and the honor of being their Gram. She was involved in their lives and activities and loved watching her son be a father.
When Faye retired traveling became her favorite pastime. She went on numerous cruises and trips. She enjoyed the adventures and wanted to do it as often as she could. As a boy mom and cheering for her son in his various sporting events she became a pretty big sports fan. She kept up with who was playing who and when and where. She was an LSU and Saints fan but enjoyed watching all sports. She became a bigger fan of golf because her grandson Ryan played and loved it. Gram loved to watch Amanda play softball and Morgan be a cheerleader. She was so proud of them and loved watching them do what they loved.
Faye was a very classy woman with a lot of style and grace. She was always dressed professionally and put together. She was a very proper and reserved lady but was also very easygoing and enjoyable to be around. She made friends easily and loved to be around other people.
Faye was a lifelong member of Broadmoor Baptist Church of Shreveport, Louisiana. She was also very active with various groups such as The Republican Women’s Club. She did volunteer work in the community and in assisted living communities offering comfort and companionship to others.
Faye loved playing bridge and played with multiple groups on various nights of the week. She was a busy lady and kept herself organized with a full calendar of activities to attend and do. She loved going out to eat with friends and family for lunches and dinners, however, she could cook some really delicious meals and hands down made the best roast and gravy you could ever eat. She loved her family and being with them whenever she could. She will be missed dearly by them and all who knew and loved her.
