Faye Rene Nelson

SHREVEPORT, LA - God took one of His children, Faye Nelson, from her earthly home to her Heavenly home to live with Him forever on September 18, 2016. Faye was born April 17, 1933 in Blum, TX to John Bascom Montgomery and Jewel Irene Elder Montgomery. Funeral services celebrating Faye's life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel with Rev. Billy Crosby officiating. Interment will follow at Summer Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held Tuesday, September 20^th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home. Faye's priorities were her Lord and Savior, her family and her church, Summer Grove Baptist Church where she enjoyed working in many ministries, especially with the youth. Even though her mind and body failed, her faith remained strong. Faye was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Valdine Story. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 61 years, Douglas "Knute" Nelson; son, David Nelson and wife, Gloria; daughters, Lesa Caldwell and husband, Joe, and Donna Nelson; grandchildren, Crystal Wibben and husband, Eric, Laura Taylor and husband, Marcus, Ben Caldwell and wife, Lauren, and Douglas Huckabee and wife, Heather; great-grandchildren, John Collier, Caden and Caroline Wibben, Knox, Lawson and Scarlett Taylor. Pallbearers will be family members "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints... You have loosed my bonds." Psalm 116:15-16.
