Flora Vaughn

A Celebration of Life for Flora Kenly Vaughn, 86, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 30, 2018 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Larry Lafitte, Chaplain. Interment will follow at Forest Park West. Visitation with family will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the funeral home. Mama was born June 30, 1931 in Baskin, LA to James and Bessie Kenly. She was retired from Krogers. She finished the 8^th grade and belonged to Woodlawn Baptist Church. She loved gardening and embroidery. Mama touched so many lives through the years. She would help anyone who needed it. Feed you if you needed it. She was preceded in death by her parents; 8 siblings; husband of 62 years, James; son, Jonathan; granddaughter, Angelica Lanette; son-in-law, John Edward; and daughter-in-law, Linda Vaughn. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Bobby; daughters, Gloria, Vicky, Sherry, and Cindy; honorary daughters, Denise Harris and Lois Lively; sons-in-law, Fred and Scott; 9 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; many friends; and her devoted companion, John Henry. Pallbearers will be James Vaughn, Bobby Vaughn, Jr., Michael Pilgreen, Sherry Huddleston, Cindy Vaughn, and Mathew Goff. Honorary pallbearer will be Bobby Vaughn, III, Fredrick Laiche, and Zaidyn Claiborne. The family would like to thank the staff at WK North and LifeCare for their excellent compassion and care they provided.
