SHREVEPORT, LA - Celebration of Life service for Floyd Divine, 81, will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, November 5, 2014, in the Rose-Neath Southside Chapel with Dr. Chad Hardbarger officiating. Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Forest Park West Cemetery, Shreveport, Louisiana. The family would like to welcome guests for visitation Tuesday, November 4, 2014, from the hours of 5:30 - 7:30 PM at Rose-Neath Southside.
Floyd was born June 9, 1933, in Vivian, LA, to the late Lacy, Sr. and Mary Lou Allborty Divine and was called to his Heavenly Garden November 2, 2014. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church here in Shreveport, LA. Floyd was an oil field service representative from 1953-1972. He opened his own business in 1972, Divine Service and Repairs, as an industrial Mechanic catering to the oil field. Floyd closed his business in 2012 following his son's death. He loved to be outside where he received much pleasure during his later years growing and selling his veggies.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; son, Steven Douglas Divine; two brothers, David Divine and Lacy Divine, Jr. Left to cherish the wonderful memories Floyd leaves behind will be his beloved wife of 61 years, Pat Dugger Divine; one daughter, Shielda Divine; four sisters, Elaine Berkley, Betty Lou Hale and husband J.T., Pat McDaniel and husband John, Carolyn Davis; four grandchildren, Joy, John, Nick and Savannah Divine; five great-grandchildren, Hunter, Alyssa, Grace, Reagan and Cassidy; one great-great grandson, Cesc; along with many extended family members and numerous great friends.
Honoring Floyd as pallbearers will be John McDaniel, Donnie McDaniel, Todd Jeffrey, Kyle Jeffrey, Roger Elkins and Roy Walling.
In Honor of Mr. Floyd Divine, memorials may be placed to your charity of choice or Emmanuel Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA.
The family would like to extend warm gratitude to the W-K North, Step-down Unit.
