Frances Marie Boyd

Frances Marie Moore McWilliams Boyd went to her Heavenly Home on July 22, 2015 at age 92. Visitation with the family will be held Saturday, July 25, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Southside in Shreveport, LA. Funeral services will be held immediately following with Rev. Lon Almeida officiating. Interment will be at 6:30 p.m. at the Converse Cemetery. Marie was born in Noble, LA on July 20, 1923 to Edward and Artie Moore. She worked for the U.S. Postal Service for over 30 years alongside her beloved husband. Marie was a dedicated wife and caregiver to her family throughout her life. She was active in the First Baptist Church in her hometown of Converse. Marie was a talented poet and often shared her gift of words in letters and cards with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Doris, Laura and Opal; brother, Simon, her husband, Roy Boyd, the late B.J. McWilliams and sons, John Boyd and Jimmy McWilliams. Marie is survived by her son, Cary Boyd; daughter-in-law, Saundra Chance McWilliams; grandson, Brandon McWilliams; special son, Randy Brown; caregiver, Beth Cupples; along with many very precious nieces, nephews and cousins. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Home, 1035 Margaret Place, Shreveport, LA 71101 or another charity in her memory.
